Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd. is seeking a dedicated General Teaching Assistant to join a Reception classroom in the TS14 area, starting in November 2026.

This full-time role offers the chance to support young learners with early literacy, language and numeracy development, in a nurturing EYFS environment. You will work closely with the class teacher and school team to create an inclusive, engaging learning space and monitor progress as children grow and develop through play-based and structured

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school or EYFS setting is desirable.
• Experience supporting Reception, Nursery or EYFS learners would be advantageous.
• A relevant TA or early years qualification is desirable but not essential.
• Understanding of early childhood development and play-based learning.
• Confident in supporting early communication, language, phonics and numeracy development.
• Ability to build positive relationships with children and staff.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging learning activities in the Reception classroom.
• Provide general classroom support to help children access learning and develop key early learning skills.
• Support individual children and small groups with early literacy, phonics, communication, language and numeracy.
• Encourage children’s social, emotional and personal development.
• Promote positive behaviour and follow classroom routines.
• Assist with classroom preparation, displays and learning resources.
• Support children during transitions, outdoor learning and daily activities.
