Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking a dedicated EYFS/KS1 SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child within a mainstream primary school in Liverpool. You will deliver tailored learning interventions, track progress, and work closely with teachers, SENCO, and families to promote inclusive education and the child’s social development.

The role requires Level 2 or 3 TA qualification, strong communication, patience, and safeguarding commitment. Experience in SEN and 1:1 support is highly valued.

Qualifications

In this role, you will provide essential support to a student within the EYFS or KS1 stage, helping them overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential in an inclusive classroom environment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a student with special educational needs within an EYFS or KS1 classroom.
• Implement tailored learning strategies and interventions as directed by the class teacher and SENCO.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment that supports the student's academic and social development.
• Assist the student with classroom activities, helping them to engage fully with the curriculum.
• Monitor and track the student's progress through detailed observations and feedback.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and external specialists to ensure a consistent and holistic approach to support.
• Adapt materials and teaching aids to meet the unique learning style and needs of the individual child.

Qualifications:

• Relevant qualification in supporting teaching and learning in schools (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification).
• Proven experience working as a 1:1 support assistant, ideally within an EYFS or KS1 setting.
• A strong understanding of SEN, including experience with specific learning difficulties or complex needs.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with children.
• A patient, proactive, and resilient approach to problem-solving.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
