Job description

Job Title: External Sales Manager

Location: Colchester

Salary: £35,000 to £45,000 + Bonus

Hours: Monday – Friday

Type: Permanent, Office/Field based

Start Date: Immediately (flexible for notice periods)

My client is a leading Electrical Wholesaler in the UK, recruiting for an External Sales Manager at their Colchester branch.

Role Responsibilities
  • Growing and increasing sales in the branch’s geographical area.
  • Identifying and developing new and existing business accounts.
  • Building strong customer relationships to maximise account potential.
  • Approaching new clients confidently, handling rejection professionally.
  • Collaborating with the team to achieve business excellence.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Electrical Wholesale experience (mandatory)
  • Cold calling and proactive sales approach
  • Ability to identify target companies and approach them directly
  • Confidently demonstrating products face-to-face
  • Building and maintaining professional relationships
  • Planning, organising, and working to deadlines
  • Smart appearance and professional image
  • Valid UK driving license
Desirable Skills
  • Punctuality, reliability, and effective time management
  • Career-driven, hardworking, and ambitious
  • Strong telephone skills
  • Excellent listening and communication skills
  • Experience in the wholesale industry (advantageous but not essential)
