Detail 2 Limited is seeking an Export Operations Coordinator for deep sea groupage in Thurrock. The role is office based, full-time, Monday to Friday 08:30–17:30, and involves handling live bookings, sourcing rates, arranging haulage and completing paperwork.

The successful candidate will have solid deep sea export operations experience, with strong knowledge of groupage and consol work, AMS/ISF filing and UK export procedures.

Responsibilities

• Sort the export inbox and respond to general export queries from customers.

• Carry out load planning, mainly for the USA but covering all destinations.
• Input and submit AMS and ISF filings.
• Arrange CDS entries.
• Keep customers and agents updated on shipment status.
• Deal with problems as they arise and resolve them with the relevant party.
• Ensure paperwork and filings are completed accurately and on time across all live shipments.

Export Operations Coordinator - Deep Sea Groupage - Thurrock

About the Company

Our client is a UK-based NVOCC (non-vessel operating common carrier), handling groupage and consolidated LCL sea freight, both import and export. They work with customers and overseas agents across a wide range of destinations. The position is office based, and you will deal directly with customers and agents rather than working through layers of management.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Export Operator to join a busy export team. The work covers groupage and consol exports, with a large proportion of volume going to the USA, though shipments go to all destinations. The successful candidate will run live export bookings day to day, from taking the enquiry and getting the rate through to arranging haulage, planning the load and completing paperwork and filings correctly and on time.

The ideal candidate will have solid deep sea export operations experience, with strong knowledge of groupage and consol work, AMS and ISF filing, and UK export customs procedures. This is not a trainee role. You will be managing several shipments at different stages at any one time, so organisation and accuracy are essential.

Export Operations Coordinator - Requirements

• Solid experience in export operations - deep sea export
• Good working knowledge of groupage and consol export work
• Experience of AMS and ISF filing
• Familiarity with UK export customs procedures and CDS entries
• Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to draft clear, accurate, professional emails without supervision and communicate confidently by phone with customers and agents
• Organised and accurate, with the ability to keep track of several shipments at once
• Friendly and polite, and comfortable working as part of a small team
• Competent with Microsoft Office packages

Desirable

• Experience of US-bound groupage in particular
• Experience working with overseas agents
• Familiarity with freight forwarding operating systems
• Experience of load planning containers
