Carmarthenshire County Council is seeking an Expert Fleet Technician to join the Trostre Depot in Llanelli. You will diagnose and repair complex vehicle faults and help maintain safety, availability and compliance across a diverse fleet.
Applicants should hold a Level 3 NVQ in HGV maintenance and repair, and a valid HGV licence is essential. The role is based at Llanelli with occasional travel to other workshops and Saturday work opportunities.
If part time and/or term time, the full time salary quoted (based on 37hrs) will be pro-rata'd accordingly

We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced and motivated Expert Fleet Technician to join our vehicle maintenance team based at our Trostre Depot in Llanelli.
The Council operates a large and diverse mixed fleet, including refuse collection vehicles, vans, light commercial vehicles, minibuses, plant equipment and specialist operational vehicles. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a varied and challenging environment, helping to ensure our fleet remains safe, reliable and available to deliver essential services to communities across Carmarthenshire.
As an Expert Fleet Technician, you will be responsible for the providing specialist knowledge and experience to diagnose and repair complex and challenging vehicle faults. Working as part of a professional workshop team, you will help maintain high standards of vehicle availability, safety and compliance.
Applicants should possess a Level 3 NVQ in HGV maintenance and repair. A HGV licence is essential for this role.
This role will be based at our Trostre Workshop in Llanelli but there will be a requirement to travel to the other workshops as and when required. There will be an opportunity to work regular Saturdays. For an informal discussion please contact Antonia Jones 01554 784168.
