Job summary

Recruitment Helpline Ltd in Bishop Auckland is seeking an experienced HGV Mechanic/Technician to join our workshop and support our growing fleet. You will perform servicing, diagnostics, and repairs to MOT standard on both customer vehicles and our own, ensuring safety, quality, and accurate record-keeping.

The role requires proven HGV experience, NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent), strong diagnostics and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic.
• NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Full UK driving licence (Class 1 would be an advantage)

Responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs for customer vehicles and our own vehicles to Mot Standard
• Diagnose faults and carry out inspections to identify issues.
• Complete vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance
• Carry out brake, suspension, steering and general mechanical repairs
• Identify faults and complete repairs efficiently
• Ensure all work is carried out to a high standard and in line with safety requirements
• Keep accurate records of work carried out and parts used.
• Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines and maintain quality.
