Job summary

CKL Developments Ltd in Battle, East Sussex, is seeking an experienced upholsterer and coach trimmer to join our trimming team on a full-time basis. You will apply skilled upholstery work to historically significant classic cars, maintaining high standards of finish and accuracy.

This role requires the ability to manage several projects, troubleshoot installation issues, and work both independently and with colleagues.

Qualifications

• Proven skills, knowledge and experience of vehicle upholstery and coach trimming.
• Accurate workmanship with strong attention to quality and detail.
• Ability to manage multiple jobs while meeting targets and deadlines.
• Troubleshoot common fitting and finishing issues.
• Work confidently both independently and as part of a team.
• Experience in restoring, repairing and refurbishing upholstery.
• Experience with bespoke/high-end products.
• An interest in historical accuracy.
• Carpentry experience would be an advantage but is not essential.

CKL Developments are an award-winning classic car restoration and racing business based in Battle, East Sussex, specialising in Jaguar powered cars from the 1950s and 1960s.

As our trimming operation continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced upholsterer and coach trimmer to join us full time. This is an opportunity to apply your outstanding craftsmanship to historically significant classic cars and to help shape the continued growth of our Trimming department.

The Requirements

To succeed in this role you will need to demonstrate:

Proven skills, knowledge and experience of vehicle upholstery and coach trimming

Accurate workmanship with strong attention to quality and detail

The ability to manage multiple jobs while working accurately to agreed targets and deadlines

Ability to troubleshoot common fitting and finishing issues

The ability to work confidently both independently and as part of a team

Experience in restoring, repairing and refurbishing existing upholstery

Experience with industrial sewing machines

Experience with bespoke/high-end products

An interest in historical accuracy

Carpentry experience would also be an advantage but is not essential
