Job summary

Driver Hire Nottingham is currently recruiting for an experienced Class 1 HGV Day Driver to work with one of our valued clients, a builders' merchant. You will deliver building materials across the region with early starts and occasional nights out, with forklift unloading by customers.

We seek a reliable driver with valid Class 1 (C+E), CPC and tachograph card, plus a minimum of 1 year of Class 1 experience.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 (C+E) driving licence.
• At least 1 year of Class 1 driving experience.
• An in-date Driver CPC qualification.
• An in-date digital tachograph card.
• The legal right to work in the UK.
• A reliable, professional attitude and a commitment to safe driving.
• Flexibility to undertake occasional nights out when required.

Responsibilities

This is a great opportunity for a reliable and professional driver looking for ongoing weekday work, delivering building materials to customers across the region. The role involves flatbed deliveries, with all deliveries forklifted off by the customer, so there is no handballing required. Occasional nights out may be required as part of the role.

The Role

• Driving a Class 1 HGV flatbed vehicle.
• Delivering building materials to customers on behalf of a builders' merchant.
• Monday to Friday, with 6:00am starts.
• Occasional nights out when required.
• All deliveries unloaded by customers using a forklift - no handballing.
• Carrying out daily vehicle checks and ensuring all deliveries are completed safely and efficiently.

Pay Rates

• Basic rate: From £18.75 per hour.
• Overtime rate: £28.12 per hour, paid daily.

Requirements

• A valid Class 1 (Category C+E) driving licence.
• At least 1 year of Class 1 driving experience.
• An in-date Driver CPC qualification.
