Job description

We are looking for an Experience Delivery Officer to join the newly formed Visitor Experience Delivery Team and help bring unforgettable outdoor experiences and seasonal programmes to life. If you’re energised by the idea of helping deliver experiences and projects that make a real difference to people’s lives, and enjoy being part of a team that’s always looking to improve, we’d love to hear from you.

What it's like to work here

This role sits within the national Visitor Experiences team, within the Experiences & Revenue Directorate. You will be working within a team passionate about giving our visitors the best experiences in the outdoors. We have ambitious plans, seeking to extend our reach to a wider audience. You will be part of a team that strives for improvement, serving our audiences well whilst supporting one another.

Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon and there will be an expectation for you to attend the office. However, there is flexibility on where you are based at other times. You will be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.

What you'll be doing

As an Experience Delivery Officer, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the smooth running of projects and workstreams across the team, and sometimes across the wider directorate. From reporting and evaluation to logistics, procurement, and data management, you’ll be the reliable backbone that keeps our delivery sharp, seamless, and impactful.

You’ll support the planning and delivery of projects and workstreams across the team, managing essential project processes such as reporting, evaluation and forward planning. The role also involves supporting governance processes, maintaining accurate data and generating insights that help shape future programming. You’ll work closely with a dynamic and supportive team, where new ideas and improved ways of working are actively encouraged.

You can view the full role profile for this role in the document attached. You don't need to have all of the knowledge, skills and experience listed in the role profile; this is just to provide a full picture of what’s possible in this role.

Who we're looking for
  • A genuine passion for supporting the creation and delivery of outstanding visitor experiences.
  • A knack for organisation, problem-solving, and making things run efficiently.
  • Confidence with reporting, data, evaluation, and working with both internal and external stakeholders
  • A team-focused mindset and enthusiasm to contribute wherever needed.
  • Experience of project delivery and support, including planning timelines, coordinating meetings, communications, and evaluation.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, prioritise effectively, and solve problems as they arise.
  • Confidence to lead training workshops, both in person and online via Webex, with mixed staff, volunteer, and community groups.
The package

The National Trust has the motto ‘For everyone, for ever’ at its heart. We’re working hard to create an inclusive culture, where everyone feels they belong. It’s important that our people reflect and represent the diversity of the communities and audiences we serve. We welcome and value difference, so when we say we’re for everyone, we want everyone to be welcome in our teams too.

  • Substantial pension scheme of up to 10% basic salary
  • Free entry to National Trust places for you, a guest and your children (under 18)
  • Season ticket loan
  • EV car lease scheme (for roles that meet the salary criteria)
  • Perks at work discounts such as gym memberships, shopping discount codes, cinema discounts
  • Holiday allowance up to 32 days relating to length of service, plus holiday purchase scheme, subject to meeting minimum criteria.
