As an Executive Support Officer at the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea Council (RBKC), you’ll be the steady hand behind the scenes, helping senior leaders stay organised and focused on delivering for our residents.
You’ll be based in the Borough for a minimum of three days a week, playing a key role in serving the local community. Whether you’re working on the frontline or behind the scenes, you’ll be part of a dedicated team making a real difference to residents’ lives.
As an Executive Support Officer, you’ll provide reliable, day-to-day support to up to two senior leaders in the Housing and Social Investment Directorate. You’ll take care of the details – managing diaries and inboxes, arranging meetings, preparing papers and following up on actions – so that they’re well-organised and ready for whatever comes their way.
This role requires excellent organisational and communication skills. You’ll coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, screen calls, manage correspondence, and track urgent requests. You’ll also support team activities such as planning staff events, processing invoices, onboarding new starters, and handling queries from residents or Members promptly and professionally.
Proven experience in administrative responsibilities such as diary management, event coordination, financial admin, and minute taking. Ability to juggle multiple priorities, solve problems proactively, and anticipate the needs of your supportees.
Excellent communication skills at all levels, emotional intelligence, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams. Experience in an executive or business support role in a fast-paced environment is preferred but transferable skills are also welcome.
