Job summary

The Care Quality Commission is seeking an Executive Personal Assistant to support Chief Inspectors in regulatory leadership roles. Job description

Grade C - £32,471 (National Framework) or £38,143 (London - for London office based or home-based workers within the boundary of the M25) – There is also an additional homeworking allowance of £581 per annum for those working from home. Please note for part time roles – this will be pro rata.

Contracted Hours: Full time 37 hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent - We have 3 roles available supporting our; Chief Inspector of Mental Health, Chief Inspector of Primary and Community Services and Chief Inspector of Hospitals

Location: Homebased

In The Last Year As An Executive Personal Assistant In The Regulatory Leadership – Mental Health, Primary And Community Or Hospitals Team, You Might Have

  • Organised a national stakeholder event, ensuring every detail, from invites to logistics, ran seamlessly.
  • Coordinated briefing materials and diary planning for a high-profile inspection visit, enabling the Chief Inspector to focus on strategic priorities.

The role

You’ll be key in helping us deliver our work. In this role, you’ll:

  • Provide executive support: Manage diaries, emails, meetings, and travel for the Chief Inspectors, ensuring they’re always prepared and supported.
  • Coordinate office operations: Keep things running smoothly by managing office systems, handling correspondence, and supporting team logistics.
  • Act as a key liaison: Build strong relationships across CQC and with external partners, representing the Chief Inspectors with professionalism and care.

  • Experience supporting senior leaders: You’ve worked closely with directors or executives, managing diaries, emails, and meetings with professionalism and discretion.
  • Strong organisational skills: You’ve handled multiple tasks at once, prioritised effectively, and kept things on track in a busy environment.
  • Clear and confident communication: You’ve written and shared information clearly, including preparing briefings or presentations, and liaised with a range of stakeholders.
