Job summary

Motel One in London is seeking an Executive Housekeeper to lead a new 222-key hotel from inception to pre-opening and full operation. This hands-on role requires strong leadership, meticulous standards, and the ability to establish brand-aligned housekeeping policies.

You will recruit and train a hotel housekeeping team, manage schedules and budgets, coordinate with Front Office and Maintenance, and ensure safety and cleanliness across all guest areas, while upholding sustainability practices.

Responsibilities

• Oversee housekeeping operations for a 222-key hotel from pre-opening through full operating capacity
• Develop and implement housekeeping policies, procedures, and standards aligned with brand guidelines and guest expectations
• Recruit, train, and manage a housekeeping team, driving excellence and continuous improvement
• Establish quality assurance protocols and regular inspections for cleanliness and maintenance across guest rooms and public areas
• Manage housekeeping budgets including labour costs, supplies, and equipment procurement
• Liaise with Front Office, Maintenance, and Guest Services to ensure seamless operations and guest experiences
• Implement sustainable housekeeping practices and optimise staff scheduling and workload
• Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, and equipment
• Handle guest complaints with professionalism and discretion
• Ensure health, safety and hygiene regulations are followed throughout operations
• Lead pre-opening setup including staff induction and training
• Report to senior management on performance and challenges

Job Description

Executive Housekeeper Responsibilities: This new hotel, comprising 222 keys, is preparing for opening, and we are seeking an experienced Executive Housekeeper to lead this exciting venture from inception.

Key Responsibilities: - Oversee the complete housekeeping operations for a 222-key hotel from pre-opening through full operational capacity - Develop and implement comprehensive housekeeping policies, procedures, and standards aligned with brand guidelines and guest expectations

• Recruit, train, and manage a housekeeping team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement - Establish quality assurance protocols and conduct regular inspections to ensure consistent cleanliness and maintenance standards across all guest rooms and public areas - Manage housekeeping budgets, including labour costs, supplies, and equipment procurement, whilst maintaining cost efficiency
• Liaise with other departments (Front Office, Maintenance, Guest Services) to ensure seamless hotel operations and exceptional guest experiences - Implement sustainable and environmentally responsible housekeeping practices - Develop staff scheduling and workload management systems to optimise productivity and team morale - Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, and equipment
• Handle guest complaints and concerns related to housekeeping services with professionalism and discretion - Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations throughout all housekeeping operations - Lead the pre-opening setup, including staff induction, training programs, and operational readiness - Report to senior management on departmental performance, challenges, and recommendations
