Job summary

J.P. Morgan’s Commercial & Investment Bank seeks an Executive Director to lead the Head of Applied AI & Data Transformation for Core Data.

You will define and execute the strategy for managing, automating, and scaling Core Data capabilities, partnering with Technology, Business, and Operations to ensure data is discoverable, consumable, and fit for purpose. You will lead a high-calibre team, drive AI-readiness, champion data quality and access, and shape a cohesive operating model delivering

• Proven experience leading data strategy and transformation in a regulated environment.
• Ability to translate complex data concepts for diverse audiences.
• Experience designing automation solutions for data management and operations.

Responsibilities

• Drive the strategic direction and execution of Core Data within the Data AI-Readiness framework.
• Define and implement an executable roadmap for agent-ready Core Data and semantic context.
• Partner with Technology to make Core Data assets discoverable and consumable by people and machines.
• Ensure core data assets are registered and described in the Compass catalogue and integrated into Fusion.
• Shape exposure of reference data through distribution APIs to meet consumption patterns.
• Establish semantic layers to provide business meaning and relationships for AI consumers.
• Identify and reduce complexity, duplication, and manual handling in Core Data processes.
• Develop data quality assessment capabilities and transparent reporting.
• Evaluate automation approaches including rules-based, AI/ML, and agentic solutions.
• Reduce access friction and enable self-service for business users.
• Build partnerships with Reference Data, Operations, CIB CDAO, and senior leadership.
• Lead and scale a high-performing team as demand grows.
