Job summary

The Suthers School is seeking casual exam invigilators to support the administration of examinations, ensuring compliance with regulations and assisting candidates as required.

Responsibilities include setting up venues, directing candidates to seats, supervising exams, addressing queries, recording attendance, handling materials, and ensuring a quiet, orderly exit. A DBS check will be conducted in line with safeguarding requirements, with start in November 2026.

• Assisting with the preparation and set up of examination venues, including laying out examination papers, equipment and stationery in accordance with regulations.
• Supporting candidates before examinations by directing them to seats and advising on permitted items.
• Supervising candidates throughout examinations and ensuring examination regulations are followed at all times.
• Responding appropriately to candidate queries and reporting any examination irregularities in line with strict procedures.
• Checking attendance and facilitating approved access arrangements where required.
• Accurately recording early leavers and supervising candidates who need to leave the examination room temporarily.
• Collecting, collating and preparing examination scripts and materials at the end of each session.
• Ensuring candidates leave examination venues in a quiet and orderly manner.
• Assisting with the movement, packing and delivery of examination materials as required.
