Job summary

Nottingham College is offering an exciting Apprenticeship as an Exam Access Arrangement Apprentice within our Additional Learning Support team. The role focuses on supporting and coordinating exam access arrangements, liaising with learners and staff, and developing your administrative and organisational skills in a busy college environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and maintain a high-quality cross-College administrative system for supporting and tracking exam access arrangement processes.
  • Facilitate the application and approval of exam access arrangements for students to meet deadlines with the Exams Officer.
  • Liaise with learners and teaching staff to initiate timely and responsive applications for Exam Access Arrangements.
  • Develop understanding of JCQ regulations and attend relevant courses as required.
  • Ensure learners have approvals in place for appropriate Access Arrangements within regulations.
  • Provide administrative support including maintaining records, preparing documentation and responding to enquiries.

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Additional Learning Support team as an Exam Access Arrangement Apprentice. The right applicant will possess a team orientated focus, open and approachable to our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) learners and have the ability to liaise with internal and external professionals working with individual learners. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn while you work, gaining hands‑on experience in a busy and supportive environment. You'll develop your administrative, communication and organisational skills, working alongside experienced colleagues who will support your learning and professional growth every step of the way.


Main areas of responsibility


  • To provide and maintain a high-quality cross-College administrative system for supporting and tracking exam access arrangement processes.

  • To facilitate the application and approval of exam access arrangements for students across the college to meet Awarding Body deadlines in liaison with the Exams Officer

  • To liaise with learners and teaching staff in a timely and professional manner to initiate a timely and responsive application for Exam Access Arrangements

  • To develop an understanding of the JCQ regulations and attend any relevant courses to gain information with regards to Exam Access Arrangements, as required by the JCQ

  • To ensure that learners have approval for appropriate Access Arrangements in place for their exams within the regulations of the Awarding Bodies

  • To provide administrative support, including maintaining accurate records, preparing documentation and responding to routine enquiries.

  • Competitive salary - £24,840 to £25,230 per annumFTE. (This will be pro-rata for part time posts)
