Job summary

East Lancashire Learning Group is seeking an organised Exam Access Arrangements Coordinator to join the Additional Learning Support Team. You will manage referrals, evidence collection and scheduling, coordinating with Specialist Assessors and the Examinations Team to ensure timely, compliant arrangements across sites.

You will maintain learner records, produce management information, and help drive QA, process improvements and staff guidance while supporting a fair, learner-centred service.

Qualifications

  • Experience coordinating complex administrative or operational processes.
  • Experience in education, learner support or similarly regulated environments.
  • Excellent organisational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience maintaining confidential records and handling sensitive information.
  • Proficient digital ICT skills including MS Office (Excel/Word/Outlook/Teams).
  • Experience using databases or learner management systems to manage information and produce reports.
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Commitment to inclusion, learner success and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating the College's Exam Access Arrangements processes across all areas of provision.
  • Managing referrals, evidence collection, assessment scheduling and implementation of arrangements.
  • Acting as the central point of contact for learners, staff, Specialist Assessors and the Examinations Team.
  • Monitoring key deadlines and ensuring compliance with JCQ regulations and awarding organisation requirements.
  • Maintaining accurate learner records and documentation across multiple systems.
  • Producing reports and management information relating to Exam Access Arrangements activity.
  • Supporting quality assurance, audit and inspection requirements.
  • Developing and improving processes to ensure an efficient and learner-centred service.
  • Providing advice and guidance to staff regarding Exam Access Arrangements and reasonable adjustments.
  • Supporting a growing number of learners to access assessments fairly and successfully.

Exam Access Arrangements Coordinator
Salary: Up to £24,942.93 (FTE £28,273.90) per annum depending on experience
Hours: 37 per week
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Weeks: 40 weeks (Term time only)
Site: Accrington & Rossendale College and Nelson & Colne College

The Exciting Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Exam Access Arrangements Coordinator to join our Additional Learning Support Team.

This is a pivotal role within one of the College's most important learner support functions. We support a growing number of learners who require Exam Access Arrangements across 16-18 study programmes, apprenticeships and adult learning. At any one time, around 1,000 learners have approved arrangements in place, making this a high-profile and business-critical role.

As Exam Access Arrangements Coordinator, you will oversee the coordination of the College's Exam Access Arrangements processes, ensuring learners receive the support and reasonable adjustments they are entitled to whilst maintaining full compliance with JCQ regulations and awarding organisation requirements.

Working closely with Specialist Assessors, the Examinations Team, curriculum staff and Additional Learning Support colleagues, you will coordinate the entire process from referral through to implementation, ensuring systems, records and deadlines are managed effectively.
This role would suit an experienced professional with exceptional organisational skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to coordinate complex processes across a large organisation.

The successful candidate will be primarily based at Accrington & Rossendale College and Nelson & Colne College.
