Job summary

Shaw Trust is seeking an Evolution Wing Facilitator to deliver group and individual interventions for CFO Evolution participants in a prison setting. You will manage induction, assessment, support, and pre-release activities, coordinating with prison staff and mentors to ensure progress and compliant case recording.

You will design and deliver training solutions, maintain strong stakeholder relationships, and provide through-the-gate support when suitable, upholding safeguarding and inclusion

Qualifications

• Level 2 English & Maths or equivalent experience.
• Understanding barriers faced by offenders and prison leavers with complex needs.
• Experience in designing and delivering training, learning solutions, and interventions.
• Committed to safeguarding, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, and professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and coordinate Wing stages including induction, assessment, support work, 3-phase delivery and pre-release preparations.
• Facilitate structured interventions and recruit/train Wing Peer Mentors.
• Update case notes and input achievements onto the CFO Evolution system with high compliance.
• Build and maintain relationships with prisons, CFO Evolution staff and partner agencies.
• Provide through-the-gate support into the community where appropriate.

Role Description

The Evolution Wing Facilitator prepares and delivers high-quality group and individual interventions to CFO Evolution participants ranging from set programmes which look to support offenders develop confidence and create a position mindset for the future to person centred support.

What You Will Be Doing

• Responsible for the delivery and coordination, alongside prison CFO colleagues, of all Wing stages including induction, assessment (where applicable), support work, the 3-phase delivery, education and training and pre-release preparation.
• Facilitation of structured interventions as outlined in the Wing timetable. Recruit, train and provide support for Wing Peer Mentors
• Updating of case notes and inputting of achievements onto CATS+, the CFO Evolution case management recording system ensuring a high level of compliance to avoid rejected achievements
• Building, managing and maintaining stakeholder relationships within the prisons to ensure a steady flow of referrals and ensure that there is no duplication of services.
• Build, manage and maintain relationships with other CFO Evolution staff (both internally and externally) to ensure the smooth transition of through the gate.
• Work closely with feeder prison CFO staff to provide suitable eligible prisoners to the Wing
• Ensuring that the prison case management recording system, is updated where relevant with work carried out with the participant, and any information relevant to the participant, such as achievements, actions, safety and security
• To provide through the gate support into the community for participants where appropriate

What We Need From You

Must have/be able to:

• Level 2 English & Maths or equivalent experience
• Understanding of the barriers faced by offenders and prison leavers with complex needs, with a commitment to rehabilitation and supporting positive outcomes. Skilled in motivating individuals, managing challenging behaviour, maintaining professional boundaries, and building effective relationships with partner agencies and supply chain organisations.
• Experience in designing and delivering training, learning solutions, and interventions within target-driven environments. Able to facilitate and engage groups and individuals, drive performance, achieve agreed targets, and deliver services in line with contractual and organisational requirements
• Committed to continuous improvement through reflection, evaluation, and proactive risk management. Demonstrates resilience, flexibility, initiative, and a strong commitment to safeguarding, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, and professional standards, including working with vulnerable individuals in secure environments.

Great To Have/be Able To

• IAG Level 3
• Level 3 Award in Education and Training or PTLLS
• Experience of designing and developing interventions programmes
• Understanding of the wider criminal justice sector
