Job description

We are a leading corporate event & team building company specialising in the management and delivery of a diverse range of unique experiences throughout the UK. Our events are all business to business for corporate clients such as Facebook, Google, John West & Sky.

Thanks to our exciting growth plans, we are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Events Manager to join our energetic events department, overseeing and coordinating a variety of fun team-building events! You will be responsible for planning and managing each event from booking through to the delivery, therefore the ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional events.

You can also expect a 50/50 split between office days and event days throughout the year, making this a perfect role for someone who wants more than what the standard 9-5 can offer! We frequently visit the likes of London, Manchester, Newcastle and even Edinburgh.

Important Information

You will be expected to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, however, please expect some flexibility in your hours of work. Your core hours will be from 08:30-17:00 but these are event dependent, please take into consideration frequent earlier starts, later finishes and occasional overnight stays offsite.

There will also be occasional weekend work but this is rare. We offer Time Back in Lieu for any additional hours worked. Please only apply if you are able to commit to the flexibility of this role.

Please note that we are only accepting applicants aged 25 or over due to the insurance policy on our fleet of vans.

Duties:

A snapshot of your duties are as below -

Event Delivery:

  • Driving company vehicles to each event location (lone working may be required during busy times)
  • Unload, build and dismantle all equipment at every event you attend, ensuring the look and feel of the event is in accordance with company standards and client expectations.
  • Instructing and delivering our activities & events (you will be required to lead sessions which can include speaking on a microphone to groups of 10-150ppl)
  • Manage all on-site activity, ensuring complete health & safety compliance from your team as well as from event participants.

Event Admin:

  • Assisting the sales team with event pitches over telephone or video call
  • Management of multiple events concurrently, taking ownership of all your clients.
  • Managing expenditure in accordance with the agreed budget per event
  • You will be the main client point of contact all the way up to the day of delivery. You will liaise with all parties (venues, caterers, freelance crew & hosts, etc) to ensure everyone is constantly fully briefed, educated and prepared for every aspect of the clients event.
  • Advising clients on solutions and adapting our events when faced with operational challenges during the planning stages.
  • Prepare, print and file all event documents accurately.

Event Development:

  • Identifying and sharing new business opportunities and ideas, including new markets or event concepts, with the Events Director.
  • Attending showcase events to build relationships with industry partners and staying up to date with new event trends.
  • Develop new in-house events and activities and enhance existing activities.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have prior experience within the events industry. We are looking for somebody who is/has:

  • Experience within an office environment
  • Excellent communication skills and not afraid of public speaking
  • Excellent IT skills (word, excel, powerpoint, outlook)
  • Self-motivated, confident with a can do, professional attitude
  • Able to think quickly and adapt to challenging situations
  • Prepared to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Willing to travel and work long hours
  • Must hold a valid UK driving license

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to £28,000.00 per year
