The events team sits within the Global Marketing, Brand and Belonging department of ICAEW and they collaborate extensively with both Belonging and Support (B&S) and the Reputation and Influence (R&I) stakeholders to deliver a diverse programme of events to our members and non-member community. The ICAEW central events programme consists of over 200 events including conferences (both virtual and in-person), award ceremonies, roundtables, evening receptions, dinners, and webinars.

The team provides a pivotal role engaging stakeholders to plan and execute events that meet member needs. We engage with stakeholders at all levels and work very closely with colleagues notably marketing, communities, and commercial partnerships. The team has a core calendar of events but often needs to adapt to meet the needs of members and stakeholders, to deliver events at short notice so flexibility is a key team attribute.

Overall purpose of this role

Reporting to the Senior Event Executive, the role will provide event production (where applicable) and delivery support to some of ICAEW’s key stakeholders across the business.

An excellent opportunity for an events executive to engage with numerous stakeholders in an exciting and busy events department.

This role encompasses end-to-end management of a variety of events both virtual (via Zoom) and face-to-face including conferences, seminars, workshops, webinars and dinners. Portfolio will consist of approx. 50 events annually.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Organising and delivering a wide programme of commercial and strategic events for ICAEW members and guests in accordance with budget and event objectives.
  2. Logistical delivery of events – this includes use of the virtual events platform (Zoom), venue sourcing (live events only), speaker liaison, virtual and on-site delivery, pre-event planning/administration including speaker & delegate onboarding and performing first class event execution.
  3. Co-ordinating the delegate booking process, including building and maintaining webpages, liaison with relevant internal departments to optimise the delegate booking experience.
  4. Working alongside the commercial partnerships team for the commercial event activity ensuring sponsorship deliverables are managed.
  5. Working with the various marketing teams on promotional material for each activity, with the ability to identify cross promotional opportunities for ICAEW products and services.
  6. Preparing information for event budgeting and reporting purposes.
  7. Working with internal stakeholders and clients to research and identify potential speakers/topics for event programmes.

Specific duties will vary from time to time in line with the business needs.

Candidate Profile

Requirements include:

  1. The ability to multi-task, excellent attention to detail and excellent organisational and administrative skills.
  2. Previous experience of running events both face-to-face.
  3. Previous experience of virtual event delivery (via Zoom) or another virtual platform.
  4. Excellent communication (written and oral) and customer service/relationship skills.
  5. High standard of presentation and attention to detail is essential.
  6. Good IT skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Zoom would be ideal, although training can be given.
  7. Ability to multi-task and work under pressure within tight deadlines.
  8. Should be organised, professional and methodical.
  9. Previous experience of drafting conference programmes.
  10. Desirable - previous experience of professional membership associations.
