Job description

Fundraising Events Executive

Do you have experience of planning and delivering in-person events? Would you like the opportunity to deliver fundraising events to attract, engage and retain high value supporters of the Science Museum?

About us

As the UK's leading centre of science engagement and the most visited museum by school groups in the UK, the Science Museum is inspiring the next generation of scientists and engineers - the problem-solvers of tomorrow. Fundraising is key to delivering our bold, strategic ambitions.

We are now recruiting for a Fundraising Events Executive based at the Science Museum in London, with hybrid working available. This is a full-time role, working 35 hours per week on a permanent contract.

About the role

As Fundraising Events Executive, you will enable us to grow our income by delivering fundraising events that provide prospective and current supporters with an outstanding experience of the Science Museum Group.

You will be supporting the delivery and development of a series of cultivation and stewardship events across the Science Museum Group although predominately at the Science Museum in London, that attract, engage and retain high value supporters.

From bespoke tours and exclusive lectures to networking receptions, and launch events, you will help to create a world-class supporter experience that inspires individuals, companies and trusts to engage with and support the museums.

About you

Joining us you will have experience in planning and delivering in-person events, working to agreed budgets to deliver events within agreed costs, with an understanding of how events can be used to contribute to high value fundraising. You will have good organisational and project management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

Crucially, you will be a good communicator, able to build relationships and collaborate with others effectively. You will have experience of using stakeholder management skills and be able to work in partnership, negotiate and build consensus.

Don't feel you meet all the criteria? We welcome you to apply even if your experience doesn't match directly. With your transferable skills, you could be the right candidate for this, or other opportunities that we have.
