Job description

Events Coordinator & New Business Development

London

This role historically receives a high volume of applications, so to help us identify the best candidate for our squad, we truly appreciate cover letters that showcase your passion for the role, our mission, and of course - cats and dogs.

A bit about the role

If you’re the kind of person who loves an organised calendar, thrives on relationship-building, and gets a buzz from seeing ideas come to life on the ground – this one’s for you.

We’re looking for an organised, high-energy go-getter to join our vibrant Sales Operations team, part of the wider Direct Sales department. Our core mission is to generate sales for the business through various channels.

One of those key channels is Events; we attend hundreds each year across the country, to meet new potential customers for both Butternut Box and Marro.

As an Events Coordinator, you’ll play a crucial role in our planning and execution. You’ll be responsible for sourcing new event opportunities, coordinating a busy roadmap, and managing multiple events weekly. You’ll work closely with the team to ensure events run smoothly and meet performance targets, maintaining healthy KPIs and supporting growth.

This role combines strategic planning, coordination, and execution, with the opportunity to deliver impactful experiences that fuel growth.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Own the events roadmap: Research, book, and coordinate a diverse range of events to ensure quality acquisitions for both brands.
  • Master the details: Ensure all event logistics are handled, including securing prime stand locations, booking accommodations, and maintaining clear communication with the team.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders: Work with Brand Ambassadors, logistics teams, and Regional Sales Managers to deliver impactful event experiences.
  • Build external relationships: Maintain positive relationships with event organizers, representing the brands professionally.
  • Negotiate deals: Secure the best deals on bookings, stand locations, and packages to optimize costs and ROI.
  • Track performance: Monitor and analyze event KPIs, providing insights to refine strategies and support growth.

A bit about you

  • You thrive in fast-paced environments and stay calm under pressure.
  • You have relevant experience in events, business development, or sales roles.
  • You are a natural planner with high attention to detail.
  • You are proactive, take ownership, and make things happen.
  • You are an excellent communicator, both in person and virtually.
  • You solve problems efficiently and handle unforeseen issues with ease.
  • You are ambitious, motivated, and eager to learn.
  • You can juggle priorities while maintaining quality.
  • You love cats and dogs (duh).

About our brands

  • Butternut Box: Founded by Kev and Dave, we believe dogs deserve better. We create freshly prepared, gently cooked meals with real ingredients, helping dogs live healthier, happier lives. We are proud to be B-Corp certified.
  • Marro: We aim to improve the world of cat food with simple, nutritious, and tasty meals, making cat care joyful and stress-free. Our goal is healthier, happier cats and confident cat parents.

What we offer

  • 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays, with an additional day for each year of service
  • 5 paid ‘paws’ days per year for learning or wellbeing
  • £500 personal development budget
  • Enhanced parental leave
  • Gorgeous co-working office space
  • Flexible hours and WFH options
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Pension with NEST
  • Private Medical Insurance (Vitality), Dental Insurance (Bupa)
  • Support for fertility treatments and pregnancy loss
  • Paid sabbaticals after 5+ years
  • Discounted gym access
  • Office dogs (Ajax, Brio, Basil, and others)

Application process

  1. Initial call (30 mins): Intro with our Recruiter
  2. Take-home task: To assess your technical skills
  3. Technical interview (60 mins): Scenario and competency questions remotely
  4. Final interview (60 mins): In person at our White City office to assess values alignment

This role requires working 3 days/week in our London office (Mon, Wed, Thu) and 2 days remote. Only apply if within a reasonable commute. We may close applications early if we receive many, and we do not support recruitment agencies.

  • We are an equal opportunity employer, valuing diversity and inclusion.
  • We are committed to social and environmental responsibility and continuous improvement.
  • We encourage applications from underrepresented groups and aim to build an inclusive team.
