Job summary

Firecracker Works in Wimbledon (SW19) is seeking a full-time Workshop Operative to support the construction teams, manage workshop organisation and drive deliveries as part of its events production operations.

You will work closely with designers, production managers and the workshop manager from concept through build, with a strong emphasis on safety, administration and inventory control; occasional travel within Europe may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid and clean driving licence.
• Forklift licence is advantageous but not essential.
• Excellent verbal and written English.
• Team player with a proactive attitude.
• Good understanding of materials and their specifications.
• Construction knowledge preferred.
• Ability to prioritise and adapt to changing workload.
• Willingness to travel to Europe sites when required.

Responsibilities

• Help organise the workshop and keep it tidy for progress.
• General Admin: manage physical and digital files.
• Coordinate with production teams to repurpose build pieces post-event.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments; ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintain inventory accuracy with cycle counts and audits.
• Follow health and safety protocols in the warehouse.
• Utilise warehouse management systems to track inventory.
• Drive vans for collections and deliveries.
• Support workshop and construction managers with maintenance.
• Work with external crew when needed.
• Occasional unsociable hours including driving.
• Collect and deliver product and supplies responsibly.
• Carry out vehicle and equipment checks.
• Take training to stay above HSE requirements.
