Job summary

Medirest, part of Compass Group UK&I, is recruiting a Domestic Assistant to join our hospital cleaning team in Knowsley. You will play a vital role in infection control and keep wards and public areas clean to support patient care and safety.

The role offers evening shifts across 20 hours per week, with a focus on high standards of cleanliness and teamwork. No previous experience required, training provided, and a DBS check is paid by employer.

Qualifications

• Passionate about patient care and able to communicate effectively with patients, visitors and healthcare staff.
• Able to work under pressure, individually and as part of a team.
• Confident working in a hospital environment and aware of distressed patients.
• No previous Domestic Assistant experience required; willingness to learn and go the extra mile.

Responsibilities

• Carry out cleaning and infection-control duties in wards, side rooms, toilets, showers and public areas.
• Clean patient areas and ensure rubbish is removed when full.
• Maintain high hospital standards and follow health and safety policies.
• Use cleaning equipment safely and in accordance with guidelines.
• Work flexibly to meet the needs of the hospital and team.
