Job summary

University of Sussex Library in Brighton is seeking an Assistant Library Officer for evenings and weekends. You will support the Library’s user experience by delivering information and guidance at service points, liaising with users and staff, and handling requests outside core hours.

The role is part-time (0.315 FTE, 11.5 hours/week) with a Grade 4 salary £26,093–£29,588 per annum, pro rata for part-time. It is not eligible for Skilled Worker sponsorship and is permanent.

• Ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and users
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and use initiative

Responsibilities

• Provide information, advice and guidance to Library users at evening and weekend service points
• Liaise with users, Library staff and other teams to address queries and requests
• Support wider library work and student membership enquiries, contributing to user experience matters
