The University of Sussex is seeking an Assistant Library Officer (Evening and Weekends) to join the Library's User Experience team. You will deliver high-quality customer service at service points, providing information, advice and guidance to users of the Library outside core hours.
You will liaise with service users and Library staff, support member enquiries and projects, and contribute to the user experience by addressing queries with clear, accurate information and a proactive approach.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in the Library's User Experience team as an Assistant Library Officer (Evening and Weekends).
In this role you will help us to deliver an excellent customer service outside of core hours by providing information, advice and guidance to users of the Library while working on our service points.
This includes liaising with service users, Library staff and other teams in relation to their queries and requests and to provide accurate information, advice, and guidance on the range of services and activities available within the Library.
You will support wider library work through projects as well as student support and membership enquiries. You will engage with users on a range of user experience and customer service matters.
You will have effective planning, organisation and prioritisation skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and service users.
You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to provide information and respond to queries.
You will have the ability to work independently and use your initiative to support the effective running of the evening and weekend service.
Having an interest in helping people and an ability to problem-solve will be crucial.
