Job summary

The University of Sussex is seeking an Assistant Library Officer (Evening and Weekends) to join the Library's User Experience team. You will deliver high-quality customer service at service points, providing information, advice and guidance to users of the Library outside core hours.

You will liaise with service users and Library staff, support member enquiries and projects, and contribute to the user experience by addressing queries with clear, accurate information and a proactive approach.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service in a front-facing/public setting.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide information, advice and guidance to Library users at service points.
• Liaise with users, Library staff and other teams to handle queries and requests.
• Support wider Library work through projects, student support and membership enquiries.
• Engage with users on user experience and customer service matters.
