Job summary

SF Recruitment is seeking a Contract Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a busy manufacturing site in Loughborough. You will perform reactive and planned maintenance on automated lines and robotics, integrating PLC fault-finding and CMMS usage to minimise downtime.

The role predominantly runs afternoon shifts (14:00-22:00) with occasional mornings (06:00-14:00). The contract offers £45.00 per hour outside IR35, reflecting a skilled maintenance engineer position in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining automated production lines with robotics and packaging machinery.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
• Experience using CMMS and performing PPM tasks.
• Flexible to rotate shifts and work independently in fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out reactive and planned preventative maintenance across a range of manufacturing and production equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical and control system faults to minimise production downtime.
• Maintain and troubleshoot automated production lines, robotic systems and packaging machinery.
• Provide hands-on engineering support to production teams, responding quickly to breakdowns and operational issues.
• Support machinery installations, modifications and engineering improvement projects.
• Identify recurring equipment faults and implement improvements to increase reliability and efficiency.
• Work closely with production teams and fellow engineers to ensure effective shift handovers.
• Record maintenance activities accurately using CMMS systems.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and root cause analysis.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in accordance with health and safety procedures.
