Walsall Academy wishes to appoint a cleaner to join our premises team. We are seeking a hardworking, reliable individual with good timekeeping who can work well in a team.

Hours are 3:15pm–6:15pm, Monday to Friday, during term time (190 days a year) plus 10 professional development days. The role involves cleaning designated areas, vacuuming carpets, mopping floors, emptying bins, dusting surfaces, and ensuring toilets are maintained and stocked.

Qualifications

• Hardworking and reliable individual with good timekeeping.
• Able to work as part of a team in a school environment.
• Willing to follow safeguarding, health & safety and data protection policies.

Responsibilities

• To be responsible for cleaning designated parts of the school site as directed by the Operations Manager.
• To vacuum carpets and wash or mop floors and toilets in specified areas (machine clean where practicable).
• To empty bins, remove waste to designated areas, and perform spot cleaning of spillages.
• To dust/wash desks, seats, ledges, skirting boards and other dusty surfaces; regularly clean toilets and replenish toiletries.
• To cleanse hand basins, wash marks on tiling and mirrors, and clean internal/external glass and windows at ground level.
• Carry out other duties as allocated by the Operations Manager and report defects or hazards promptly.
• To uphold the Academy’s Child Protection and Safeguarding policies and all Data Protection requirements.
