Job summary

Walsall Academy wishes to appoint a cleaner to join our premises team. We are seeking a hardworking, reliable individual with good timekeeping who can work well in a team.

Hours are 3:15pm–6:15pm, Monday to Friday, during term time (190 days a year) plus 10 professional development days. The role involves cleaning designated areas, vacuuming carpets, mopping floors, emptying bins, dusting surfaces, and ensuring toilets are maintained and stocked.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• To be responsible for cleaning designated parts of the school site as directed by the Operations Manager.
• To vacuum carpets and wash or mop floors and toilets in specified areas (machine clean where practicable).
• To empty bins, remove waste to designated areas, and perform spot cleaning of spillages.
• To dust/wash desks, seats, ledges, skirting boards and other dusty surfaces; regularly clean toilets and replenish toiletries.
• To cleanse hand basins, wash marks on tiling and mirrors, and clean internal/external glass and windows at ground level.
• Carry out other duties as allocated by the Operations Manager and report defects or hazards promptly.
• To uphold the Academy’s Child Protection and Safeguarding policies and all Data Protection requirements.

Walsall Academy wish to appoint a cleaner to work as part of our premises team. We are looking for someone who is:

Specific Duties:

• To be responsible for cleaning certain parts of the school site as allocated by the Operations Manager as required.
• To use cleaning materials as instructed by the Operations Manager.
• To vacuum all carpeted areas and to wash or mop the floors and toilets in designated areas (machine clean where practicable).
• To empty and clean bins and remove waste to designated areas.
• To spot cleaning of spillages.
• To dust/wash carefully with clean dusters/cloths, desks, seats, ledges, skirting boards and other places where dust lodges.
• To regularly clean toilets, toilet areas and the replenishment of toiletries etc.
• To cleanse hand basins in all toilets.
• To wash off dirty marks on wall tiling and mirrors.
• To clean internal glass, internal and external door glass.
• To periodically clean internal and external windows at ground level.
• Carry out such other duties as may be allocated from time to time by the Operations Manager.
• Report all defects/hazards immediately to Operations Manager.
• To maintain high standards of ethics and behaviour and to uphold the Nolan Principles.
• To have responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and to ensure that the Academy’s Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy along with e-Safety Policies are adhered to.
• To adhere to the Code of Conduct which is provided annually.
• All employees are expected to work within the confines of the Data Protection Act and to take appropriate measures to ensure the security and confidentiality of data.
• To adhere to the Academy’s Health and Safety Policy.
• To carry out other reasonable tasks from time to time as directed by the Headteacher.
