Job summary

Untold Living in Westbury is seeking an Evening Receptionist & Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly retirement village team. You will be the main contact for residents during the evening, providing support, safety and a professional service.

You'll work evenings on Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday, with alternate Saturdays including kitchen duties from 12:00 to 5:00 and reception duties from 5:00 to 8:00.

Qualifications

• Friendliness, dependability and confidence dealing with people.
• Comfortable working independently during the evening.
• Previous reception, hospitality, care or kitchen experience would be advantageous, with training provided.

Responsibilities

• Reception and resident support during evening shifts.
• Answering the telephone and dealing with enquiries.
• Responding appropriately to emergencies and following established procedures.
• Providing room service to residents during the evening.
• Carrying out general reception and administrative duties.
• Helping to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our residents.
• Kitchen support on alternate Saturdays: assist kitchen team, keep areas clean, wash up.

Job description

We are looking for a friendly, reliable and helpful Evening Receptionist & Kitchen Assistant to join our team.

This is a varied role, combining evening reception duties with some kitchen support on alternate Saturdays. You will be an important point of contact for our residents during the evening, helping to ensure they feel supported, safe and well looked after.

The regular evening shifts are:

• Wednesday: 5.00pm – 8.00pm


• Thursday: 5.00pm – 8.00pm


• Saturday: 5.00pm – 8.00pm

Every other Saturday, the shift will start at 12.00pm. From 12.00pm to 5.00pm, you will assist our kitchen team with a range of general kitchen duties. From 5.00pm to 8.00pm, you will then carry out the usual evening reception duties.

Your main responsibilities will include:

Reception and resident support

• Welcoming and assisting residents and visitors.


• Answering the telephone and dealing with enquiries.


• Responding appropriately to emergencies and following established procedures.


• Providing room service to residents during the evening.


• Carrying out general reception and administrative duties.


• Helping to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our residents.

Kitchen support – alternate Saturdays

• Assisting the kitchen team with general preparation and service duties.


• Keeping the kitchen and working areas clean and tidy.


• Washing up and maintaining good hygiene standards.


• Supporting the team with other reasonable kitchen duties as required.

About you

We are looking for someone who is friendly, dependable and confident dealing with people. You should be comfortable working independently during the evening and able to remain calm and professional when dealing with unexpected situations.

Previous reception, hospitality, care or kitchen experience would be advantageous, but training will be provided for the right person.

Most importantly, we are looking for someone who enjoys helping others and takes pride in providing a friendly and professional service to our residents.

Average 11.5 hours per week (9 hours week 1; 14 hours week 2)
