Job summary

Avon Search is recruiting a Kitchen Assistant for a 30-bed residential care home in Churston, Brixham. This part-time role covers 24 hours per week across four shifts, from 8am to 2pm, at a pay of £12.71 per hour.

You will assist the cook, help with meals, keep the kitchen clean and safe, and support a positive dining experience for residents. A friendly, reliable team player with basic hygiene knowledge is ideal.

Qualifications

• Experience in kitchen, catering or care environment preferred but not essential.
• Basic understanding of food hygiene is desirable.
• Friendly, reliable and hardworking approach.
• Good cleanliness and personal hygiene.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily food preparation.
• Help prepare and serve meals and refreshments.
• Support with plating and presentation of meals.
• Wash dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment.
• Keep kitchen areas clean, tidy and hygienic.
• Follow food hygiene and health & safety procedures.
• Assist with stock rotation and storage of food supplies.
• Dispose of waste appropriately.
• Help maintain a safe and organised kitchen environment.

About the Role

We are recruiting a friendly and reliableKitchen Assistantto join a welcoming 30-bed residential care home in the beautiful Churston area of Brixham.

As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the kitchen team to provide fresh, nutritious and appealing meals for our residents. You will help ensure the kitchen operates efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and safety.

Working24 hours per week across 4 shifts, from 8am to 2pm, you will assist with food preparation, serving meals, washing up and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment.
