Job summary

Cygnet Hospital Maidstone is seeking a Part-time Evening Receptionist to join our 64-bed adult mental health facility on the Kent Medical Campus in Maidstone. This role is 12 hours per week across three shifts from 4:30pm to 8:30pm, Monday to Friday, with one weekend shift on a rota basis.

You will provide a welcoming reception, greet visitors, manage sign-in/out, answer and transfer calls, handle post, and support general office duties while upholding safety and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Experience as a receptionist/administrator in a customer-facing role.
• Able to manage multiple tasks with accuracy and discretion.
• Good numeracy and literacy levels with confidentiality awareness.

Responsibilities

• Provide a professional, welcoming reception experience.
• Greet visitors and notify appropriate staff of arrivals.
• Ensure visitors sign in/out and patients are logged on return/exit.
• Answer and transfer incoming calls; take messages as needed.
• Sort and distribute post; assist with general office duties.
• Keep the reception area tidy and promote site safety protocols.

Cygnet Hospital Maidstone is our state-of-the-art, 64 bed mental health facility for adults situated in the Kent Medical Campus in Maidstone

We are recruiting for a Part-time Evening Receptionist to work 12 hours per week. This will include 3 shifts of four hours between Monday to Friday (4:30pm - 8:30pm).

Your Day-to-Day...

• You'll be working 12 hours a week across three shifts in a hospital setting with older adults with mental health problems and men diagnosed with learning disabilities. This will include one weekend shift on a rota basis.
• Provide a professional, welcoming reception experience
• Greet visitors & notify the appropriate member of staff of their arrival
• Ensure visitors sign in & out, and that patients leaving & returning are recorded appropriately
• Answer & transfer all incoming calls and take messages where appropriate
• Sort & distribute post, and assist with general office duties as required
• Keep the reception area clean & tidy
• Promote the safety & security of all site users and ensure all staff comply with security protocols.

You are...

• An experienced receptionist/administrator used to liaising with customers/clients
• Organised, naturally helpful and a good multi-tasker
• Computer literate - including Windows/Word/Excel/Outlook or equivalent
• Knowledgeable of telephone systems
• Polite, friendly & approachable with excellent communication skills
• GCSE Maths and English qualified, with a good level of numeracy and literacy
• Diligent & accurate, with an eye for detail and an understanding of confidentiality.
