Job summary

Environmental Chemistry Testing Limited (ECT), part of the Phenna Group, operates in Leicester and Poole. We are seeking a motivated Sample Logistics Collection Driver to join our internal logistics team and support safe, efficient transport of client samples and lab consumables.

The role covers daytime and evening routes on weekdays, with progression from Level 1 to Driver levels as experience grows, emphasizing customer service, safety, and accuracy in sample handling.

Qualifications

• Good oral, written, and numeracy skills.
• GCSE Grade C / Grade 5 or above in Maths and Science.
• Computer literate.
• Full, clean UK driving licence held for a minimum of four years.
• Previous experience of driving commercial vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes is highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver laboratory consumables, sampling equipment, and associated materials to client sites.
• Collect environmental samples for laboratory testing from client locations.
• Verify that collected samples are correctly labelled and accompanied by the required documentation.
• Ensure all sample containers are transported safely and securely to maintain sample integrity.
• Follow established collection schedules and route plans to meet agreed service levels.
• Maintain clear communication with clients and the logistics management team regarding collection activities and any issues encountered.
• Report delays, incidents, missing samples, or client concerns promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, collections, and vehicle checks.
• Visit designated ECT Drop-Off locations according to the scheduled route.
• Complete LabTrac tasks and records accurately and in a timely manner.
• Collect and safely transport client samples back to the laboratory.
• Ensure samples are stored and transported in accordance with temperature and handling requirements.
• Maintain the cleanliness, organisation, and overall presentation of ECT Drop-Off sites.
• Report any maintenance issues, stock shortages, security concerns, or housekeeping issues identified during visits.
