Job summary

Chemtech Environmental, part of the Celnor Group, is recruiting a Laboratory Analyst to support sample preparation, basic chemical analysis and equipment checks in a busy laboratory in Southampton. The role covers day-to-day lab tasks, sample handling and site sampling when required.

We value practical, detail-focused individuals who can work to deadlines, with good Excel skills and a willingness to learn within a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths, with a basic understanding of chemistry desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines in a busy environment.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and processing household waste, soil, water and other environmental samples ready for laboratory analysis.
• Carrying out basic chemical analysis and updating worklists and sample records.
• Managing sample storage, subsampling, fixing and disposal per procedures.
• Carrying out soil sampling and supporting water monitoring at customer sites when required.
• Completing daily equipment checks, calibrations, temperature monitoring and basic maintenance.
• Supporting quality control activities and non-conforming work investigations.
• Maintaining stock, housekeeping and effective communication with customers and colleagues.
