Job summary

Brighton & Hove City Council is seeking Evening Home Care Support Workers to join the Independence at Home (Reablement) team. You will work evenings, with a two-week rolling rota and some weekend/bank holiday work, providing short-term care to help clients remain independent at home.

No formal qualifications are required, but prior care experience is advantageous and you will receive high-quality training and support from a dedicated team.

Qualifications

• No formal qualifications required; care experience would be an advantage.
• You should have a caring, flexible and professional approach to your work.
• Good written and numeracy skills; able to relate to people from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care such as washing, bathing, dressing and toileting.
• Assist with moving around the client’s home.
• Help with shopping and meal preparation.
• Provide emotional and social support to clients.
• Assist with medication as directed.
• Liaise with other health care services and family members.
• Support clients to regain confidence with daily living skills.
