Job summary

St Albans School is seeking a reliable Late Porter to join the Estates team. The role covers portering, security and caretaking duties to maintain presentation and safety across the School site.

Working 40 hours per week, 3pm–midnight, Monday to Friday, you will lock/unlock facilities, monitor alarms and CCTV, control site access and help with events, deliveries, and everyday housekeeping while delivering friendly, professional service.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Good literacy, numeracy and basic IT skills.
• Experience in caretaking, portering, facilities, security or similar is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Ensure security of school buildings and grounds, including locking/unlocking facilities.
• Monitor alarm systems and CCTV and control site access.
• Carry out regular patrols and support safe pupil departures.
• Receive and distribute deliveries and assist with events.
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation of key areas and support contractors, visitors, staff.
