Job summary

Thrive Group is seeking a dedicated Detached Youth Worker to engage young people in Liverpool and Knowsley. The role operates in parks and streets, delivering youth-led street interventions and community projects, with sessions starting at 4:00 PM for 16 hours per week.

You will address issues like social isolation, mental health, substance use, and educational disengagement, building trusting relationships in non-traditional settings and collaborating with local services.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of direct youth work, outreach or related experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and listening skills to engage hard-to-reach youths.
• Up-to-date safeguarding knowledge and procedures.
• Willingness to work evening shifts from 4:00 PM, including weekends if rostered.

Responsibilities

• Undertake on-the-ground detached youth work sessions in Liverpool and Knowsley.
• Build trusted, non-judgmental relationships with young people aged 11–19 (up to 25 for SEND).
• Deliver informal education, signposting, and health/safety guidance.
• Complete session logs, reports, and participate in team supervision.
