Job summary

Edgar Wood Academy is seeking a dedicated Cleaner to help maintain a clean, safe environment for students, staff and visitors. You will join a supportive team and carry out daily cleaning tasks across classrooms, offices, corridors and restrooms.

The role emphasises attention to detail, reliable work ethic and compliance with health and safety procedures. We offer accessible transport links and parking, plus programmes supporting staff wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all assigned areas are cleaned to a high standard, including classrooms, offices, corridors, and restrooms.
• Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and waste disposal.
• Replenish consumable items (e.g., soap, toilet paper) as needed.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel.
• Use cleaning equipment and materials safely and effectively.
• Follow established health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Work with supportive and friendly teams to gain experience across different areas.
• Locations accessible via metro, bus and train with free parking.

As a Cleaner, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of our school, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. You will work as part of a supportive team to uphold the high standards of the Academy.
