Job summary

Glasshoughton Infant Academy in Castleford is seeking a reliable Cleaning Assistant to help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors. This 10-hour-per-week, whole-year contract runs Monday to Friday, 6.00am to 8.00am, under the direction of the Cleaning Supervisor.

Full training can be provided. Responsibilities include cleaning surfaces, vacuuming floors, cleaning toilets and waste disposal, plus deeper cleans during school closures.

Qualifications

• Reliable and hardworking with positive attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Full training provided; prior cleaning experience is a plus but not required.

• Vacuuming and cleaning floors, including the use of a scrubber dryer where appropriate. Full training can be provided.
• Cleaning toilets, changing rooms and other sanitary areas to ensure high standards of hygiene.
• Collecting and disposing of waste safely and appropriately.
• Undertaking scheduled and deeper cleaning programmes during school closure periods and at other designated times.
• Following safeguarding, health and safety procedures at all times.

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Cleaning Assistant to join our team and help us maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for our pupils, colleagues and visitors.

Working under the direction of the Cleaning Supervisor, you will work both as part of the wider cleaning team and independently to ensure our school buildings are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Cleaning surfaces, fixtures, fittings, walls, partitions and internal woodwork as required.
• Vacuuming and cleaning floors, including the use of a scrubber dryer where appropriate. Full training can be provided.
• Cleaning toilets, changing rooms and other sanitary areas to ensure high standards of hygiene are maintained.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has a positive and dependable approach and is able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Previous cleaning experience would be an advantage, although appropriate training and support can be provided.
