Job summary

Compass Group UK is seeking an experienced Evening Chef Supervisor to lead our evening catering operation. You will manage the team, ensure excellent customer service, and oversee food preparation, stock control, and financial procedures during shifts.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong food safety knowledge, and a passion for delivering high-quality meals in a busy hospitality setting. Friday and weekend evenings include shift work across Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Qualifications

• Previous culinary or food preparation experience within a catering, hospitality, or food service environment.
• Experience supervising or managing a team.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Good understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Organised, reliable, and confident making decisions independently.
• A positive attitude with a passion for delivering great food and service.

Responsibilities

• Leading and motivating the evening catering team to deliver an outstanding customer experience.
• Preparing and serving fresh food to customers while maintaining high food quality standards.
• Managing stock levels, completing stock takes, and ensuring products are available and well-presented.
• Handling cashing up procedures and ensuring accurate financial controls at the end of service.
• Maintaining food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards throughout the shift.
• Taking responsibility for the smooth running of the operation in the absence of senior management.
