Job summary

Thomas Franks Ltd. in Musselburgh is recruiting a General Assistant to support the school dining service, covering evening supper and related duties for pupils and staff. You’ll work in a fast-paced catering environment with a friendly team, delivering quality service while upholding high hygiene standards.

The role offers on-site work, training and development within a leading independent contract caterer, with opportunities for progression and involvement in school events.

Qualifications

Experience in fast-paced catering environment.
Able to work evenings and weekends for events.
Good hygiene and safety practices.

Responsibilities

Support the team with serving customers, replenishing stocks, cleaning.
Prepare service areas for daily meals and events.
Serve, clear, clean and store away food, beverage or equipment.
Prepare basic food for sale following hygiene standards.
Restock stocks and consumables during service.
Manage rubbish and recycling appropriately.
Occasionally work evenings and/or weekends for functions.
Adhere to food standards and minimise wastage.
Follow Food Hygiene and Health & Safety policies and allergens control.
