Job summary

Thomas Franks is recruiting for a General Assistant at our Musselburgh location. You will support a busy catering operation, handle serving, setup and clean-down duties, and assist with stock replenishment for breakfast, breaks, lunch and supper.

The role requires a friendly, reliable team player with a food hygiene background and good command of English. Flexibility for occasional evenings and weekends is important and there are opportunities for development within the company.

Qualifications

• Experience in fast-paced catering environment.
• Able to work evenings and weekends for functions and events.
• Good verbal English and written English.
• Reliable and customer-focused.

Responsibilities

• Support the team with serving customers, replenishing stocks, cleaning.
• Prepare service areas for the day’s business and meal service.
• Set up, serve, clear, and store away any food or beverages for events.
• Follow hygiene and safety practices to standard.
• Restock and monitor stocks to meet customer needs during service.
• Handle rubbish and recycling in the correct place.
• Occasionally work evenings and/or weekends for functions and school events.
• Ensure food standards and wastage controls are followed.
