Job summary

Hutchinson Care Homes in Antrim is seeking a Twilight Care Assistant to provide safe, compassionate care to its residents, supporting daily living activities and maintaining dignity.

You will work as part of a team across care homes within the group, follow infection control and safeguarding procedures, and participate in training. The role requires at least 1 year in healthcare and good communication, with flexibility for evening shifts.

Qualifications

• Compassionate and caring disposition.
• Excellent observation skills and initiative.
• At least 1 year experience working in healthcare.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to residents’ needs.
• Team player with a reliable and professional approach.
• Punctual, well-presented, and trustworthy.
• Physically fit to meet the demands of the role.
• Desirable: NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards).

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal care (dressing, washing, eating).
• Provide company to residents.
• Provide information to family members regarding care plans.
• Follow infection control, safeguarding, and health & safety procedures.
• Report accidents, incidents, or concerns to management.
• Maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Be flexible to work across different care homes within the group.
• Administer medication under supervision.
• Work with other health care professionals to provide high-standard care.
• Attend required training when instructed.
• Attend staff meetings as required.
• Report and record changes in health, wellbeing, or behaviour to the Nurse/Manager promptly.
