Job summary

Arnold Clark in Inverness is looking for a skilled Automotive Mechanic to service, repair and maintain vehicles across a wide range of models. You will diagnose issues using modern diagnostic equipment and work to high standards while ensuring safety and quality.

The role offers opportunities to progress, overtime and additional bonuses. Starting salary £40,000–£50,000 DOE with benefits, generous leave, private healthcare and pension options.

Qualifications

• Certificate in Light Vehicle Maintenance Level 3 with solid automotive experience.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a busy team.
• Strong communication skills.
• Attention to detail and high standards.
• Ability to meet deadlines with a proactive approach.
• Ability to follow written and spoken instructions.
• Full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, repairs and maintenance to high standards.
• Inspect engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues with diagnostic equipment.
• Repair or replace broken or defective parts.
• Carry out DVSA vehicle testing (if authorised).
• Road test vehicles to check repairs.
• Maintain equipment and ensure tools are in good condition.
• Follow checklists to ensure all procedures are completed.
• Complete all documentation to required standard.
