Job summary

Arnold Clark Bathgate Used Cars is seeking a skilled mechanic to service and repair vehicles to a high standard, handling a wide range of makes and models with pride.

The role offers £40,000–£50,000 DOE, overtime paid at time and a half, and annual reviews with potential bonuses up to £9,000 every three years. Benefits include 33 days' leave, flexible hours, private healthcare, toolbox cover, EV training and generous staff discounts.

Qualifications

• Certificate in Light Vehicle Maintenance Level 3 (essential).
• Capable of working independently or in a busy team.
• Good communication skills.
• Attention to detail and high standard workmanship.
• Able to meet deadlines and follow procedures.
• Proactive and enthusiastic attitude.
• Must hold a full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out servicing, repairs and maintenance to high standards.
• Inspecting engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues.
• Repairing or replacing worn parts as needed.
• Carrying out DVSA vehicle testing (if authorised).
• Road testing vehicles after repairs.
• Maintaining and checking tools and equipment.
• Following checklists and completing documentation.
