Job summary

Arnold Clark is seeking an experienced Mechanic for our Shrewsbury Motorstore. You will service, repair and maintain vehicles across a wide range of manufacturers, while developing your skills with EV‑accreditation training.

The role provides a salary of £40,000–£50,000 DOE with benefits, 33 days annual leave, flexible hours and overtime paid at time and a half. You’ll join a supportive, high‑standard team in a busy workshop environment.

Qualifications

• Certificate in Light Vehicle Maintenance Level 3 and solid experience in automotive industry.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a busy team.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Full driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, repairs and maintenance to high standards.
• Inspect engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues using diagnostic equipment.
• Repair or replace broken or defective parts.
• Carry out DVSA vehicle testing (if authorised).
• Road test vehicles to check repairs.
• Maintain equipment and ensure tools are in good condition.
• Follow checklists to ensure all procedures are completed.
• Complete all documentation to the required standard.
