Job summary

White Recruitment Construction is recruiting a Freight Forwarder in Coventry to manage European road freight shipments from inquiry through delivery. You will quote, source capacity, negotiate rates and coordinate bookings with carriers to ensure on-time delivery.

The role emphasizes speed, accuracy and strong customer communication across UK and EU movements, with a focus on urgent and high‑value shipments and no weekend work.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience within European road freight forwarding.
• Confident managing shipments independently.
• Familiar with quoting, buying and booking freight.

Responsibilities

• Handle customer enquiries by telephone and email.
• Quote for dedicated, part-load, full-load and expedited European shipments.
• Source capacity from European subcontractors/carriers.
• Negotiate competitive transport rates.
• Book and manage shipments from start to finish.
• Coordinate customs clearance and ensure correct documentation.
• Provide customers with regular shipment updates.
• Manage multiple live shipments while meeting deadlines and service levels.
• Resolve problems quickly when plans change.
