Job summary

Freight Personnel represents a multi-national freight forwarder seeking a European and UK Road Operations Assistant in Redditch, Worcestershire. The role sits in the road freight operations team and involves bookings, admin, and delivering high levels of customer care.

The candidate should have European transport or freight experience, with UK experience considered if they are keen to learn European operations. A small warehouse (~8,000 sq ft) supports despatch and stock control.

Qualifications

• European transport or road freight experience required.
• Customer service and relationship-building ability.
• Experience calculating freight quotations.
• Negotiation skills to maximise gross profit.
• Strong organisational and IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day bookings of European and UK road transport.
• Process export and import customs clearance where applicable.
• Coordinate warehouse goods in/out and stock reporting.
• Drive forklift and load/unload vehicles (FLT training provided).
• Liaise with clients and suppliers; prepare quotations and bookings.
• Involve in meetings and weekly activity analysis.
• Invoicing and data population for internal analysis.
