Job summary

LJ Recruitment is seeking an European Operations Coordinator to join its Gloucestershire team. You will handle key duties in transport and logistics operations, ensuring accurate documentation and timely shipment updates.

The role includes liaising with customs, customers and partners to maintain service levels. The ideal candidate has GCSEs in English and Maths, strong IT skills and a proactive, collaborative approach.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport, freight or logistics operations is essential.
• Desirable: customer service or administrative experience.
• GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent).
• Strong IT skills and ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with customers and overseas partners for efficient service delivery and provide shipment updates.
• Coordinate with Customs, Transport and Warehouse teams for smooth movement of shipments.
• Create and manage shipments using a Transport Management System (TMS).
• Review customer documentation and invoices to support UK/EU customs compliance.
• Prepare load lists, manifests and customs instructions; resolve discrepancies during loading.
• Respond promptly to customer and partner inquiries with professional communication.
• Arrange special collections and liaise with third‑party transport providers to resolve issues.
• Work with colleagues to improve processes and maintain high service standards.
