Job summary

Metro in Manchester is seeking an ambitious Business Development Manager to drive new business across European Road Freight. You will build tailored logistics solutions, work with customers and internal teams to expand Metro's freight footprint.

You will identify opportunities, lead price proposals, RFQs, and negotiations, and represent Metro at industry events. You will thrive on relationship building and autonomous territory development within a supportive network.

Qualifications

Experience in Air Freight, Ocean Freight or Freight Forwarding sales.
Proven track record of generating and securing new business.
Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

Identify, target and win new business opportunities across European Road Freight.
Develop tailored logistics solutions and build strong client relationships.
Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through onboarding.
Deliver customer meetings, presentations and commercial negotiations.
Produce pricing proposals, quotations, RFQs and tender submissions.
Collaborate with operations to tailor logistics solutions and forecast.
